RESTRAINING ORDERS
We can prepare the court papers to help you request Temporary Restraining Orders against a person or persons who are threatening or harrasing you. If granted by a judge, the orders are temporary until a hearing by the Court can be held. At the hearing, the judge may grant the restraining orders, order mediation, schedule for trial, or dismiss the case. If mediation or trial are scheduled, the judge usually continues the Temporary Orders in effect until that time.
Restraining Orders may be valid for up to three years, as set by the judge. If granted, you should:
- Keep a copy of the Orders with you at all times
- Give a copy of the Orders to anyone else being protected
- Give a copy to the police
- Give a copy to places the restrained person is ordered to keep away from (i.e., school, work, etc.)
Depending on the relationship of the person being protected and minor children, if any, to the Respondent, our fee to complete the Court documents for Temporary Restraining Orders varies. Please call or contact us for a discussion of your request for Restraining Orders and an immediate price quote.
